Table EIERMANN by Richard Lampert

One of the most famous architects of post-war modernism in Germany. His most famous buildings include the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin, the Bonn parliament, the German Embassy in Washington and the Olivetti towers in Frankfurt. With his dedication he inspired not only his students and clients. Just two of his many awards are „The Grand Prize of the BDA“ (Federation of German Architects) and Germany‘s „Grand Order of Merit“. The architect came to WILDE+SPIETH looking for suitable shutters for his buildings. In 1948 already he asked the forward-looking question: „Children, can you make chairs too?“ A close and friendly cooperation began and together they developed Eiermann’s famous production furniture made of wood and tubular steel in the years and decades that followed. Professor Egon Eiermann died in 1970 in Baden- Baden. The ›Table Eiermann 1‹ is a real classic in furni- ture design history. The original table frame was designed in 1953 for Eiermann’s own office, the cross in one piece, placed diagonally beween the sides. This reduced construction is the opti- mum between material and stability. Less is not possible. For many years the original version seemed to have vanished. Replaced by a variety of crude and cheaper demountable versions, which could not stand up to the original in design. Richard Lampert received sole manu- facturing rights for the Eiermann tables in 1995 by the Eiermann family. He reintroduced the original version and is offering this table in his original specification but in a knock-down version. Through the details and first class quality it remains Eiermann’s vision, available in many versions, our price is for: frame 110 x 66 h 66 or 78 cm, plate melamine white, 120 x 80 cm.
